How to Enable Daily Updates in Your Actions

The daily update is a quick, efficient meeting for teammates to discuss important business updates. Unlike a typical synchronous meeting, it allows teammates to respond at times convenient for them and avoids scheduling conflicts. It also helps ensure that all team members are aware of key projects, initiatives, and priorities. The daily update is an effective internal communication tool that promotes transparency, alignment, and engagement in your organisation.

To enable daily updates in your Action, configure one of its intents as a triggering intent and set the daily update option as the response for that intent. When a user invokes the intent, the Action will trigger a daily update conversation and display it as a notification on their device. If you want to personalize the content of that daily update conversation, you can collect custom parameters from the user when they register for this intent using Dialogflow or the Actions SDK. Then, you can reference those values when delivering the daily update (either by adding them to your response or passing them as arguments to your Action).

Daily updates are particularly effective for fast-paced environments and large teams. However, even smaller businesses and slower-paced industries can benefit from these meetings if they are structured effectively. Some common mistakes include over-loading employees with information: keep your daily updates concise and focused; make them easy to scan and read; and track engagement metrics to ensure that they are providing value to your users.
